If i remember correctly if you just press O it would lock in the grapple and then you did the direction push with another press of the O to do a grapple move. If you just pressed O with a directional button straight away it would whip them into that direction

Yeah but apparently just pressing 'o' will lock up into a grapple now.

Therefore you have

'o' + right
'o' + left
'o' + up
'o' + down
'o'

All of those combos immediately lock up into grapples which you can then do moves from.

Thats how i read it anyways...maybe i read it wrong.

I'm hoping they don't make it too complicated though and try and put in too many different combinations as that would get too confusing.

Eh? Its always been like that. Nothing has changed.

'O' whips them in the direction you are facing
'O' + R1 + Direction for Irish Whip wherever you want them to go
'O' + Direction for grapple.

Agreed!

Cricket games are the worst offenders.

I wonder how you will Irish Whip on the new game if normal 'O' locks up into a grapple.

Commentary should be removed from all games period seeing as virtually no developers can get it right (MVP Baseball is the only one that comes close to not being totally retarded)

commentary should be removed from wrestling games, it's always awful.
the only one that was any good was Wrestlemania on the playstation (it was more of an arcade game: undertaker had smoke "fireballs" and there was a daft combo system, etc... massively unrealistic, but a ton of fun :D )
the commentary on that was not exactly match related, but had over acted phrases from the king and vince over it.
in that classic vince voice - "this is a total debacle"
quality.

Must admit it looks really good. I've got the first offering on the PS2 but not the others as I thought they didn't offer much more than the first one to justify £30 but I think this one will be a definite purchase.
