"Why do we hate spiders?"

A nice easy question there. Comes from me finding an absolutely huge spider crawling out from my bed last night - ruining my San Andreas fun. My stepdad has the photos on his camera - so I'll upload them when I get the chance. could this possibly be the start of the SR spider hunt?

Anyway, why do we hate the horrible little things?

Didn't that little fact used to be on the back of penguin wrappers?

For the Arachnaphobe in all of us : Did you know throughout your lifetime you swallow an average of 8 spiders ?

They crawl into your mouth when you're sleeping apparently

I used to be terrified of spiders, but then a mate did a little experiment involving me and a spider and I was okay with it. Ever since, I still don't like to touch them, but at least I'll "deal with them" when they're around and no one else will eliminate (or extract) the little blighters.

i still think it's grusome (sp?) to see them walk though. Dunno why - their legs just look ... weird.

It's alright if you've got a "you stay away from me and I'll stay away from you" kind of thing going on, but it's when they venture off the ceiling and start getting in my way that I get annoyed by them.

A big ugly one fell out of a tab book on to my hand the other night. Scared the hell out of me. It had to die.

exactly - some are fine with the little beasts - but most aren't. A select few are scared of snakes.

I feel that spiders must have done something to us in a previous life - or send us unconscious messages to back away. Even the tiniest ones scare the hell out of me - although I am getting better.

Spiders are fine. I've never understood people not liking them but to be honest I'm not a great snake fan, many people don't have problems with them.
