How can I tell if my Harry Potter Order of the Pheonix book is the 1st edition or not?

thats only the recent ones, the first ones have the numbers, the newer ones (4 onwards i belive) dont. ironically, these are the least rare 1st editions, and so are the ones i have.

pfff, nothing i buy is ever worth more than 10times i pay for it :(

No the Harry Potter books, if it's a first edition it'll say First Edition but no numbers.

On the page with all the publishing information and all the copyright stuff, there's a line of numbers. If those numbers are 1 to 10 in order then your book is a first edition.

I dont need the book, I hate Harry Potter, I haven't got the patients to wait years and I need about £10 URGENTLY.

So I shall sell.

She's keeping it for a while, then selling it. What she doesn't know is that I want to sell it first.

Yes, there were only 500 printed in 1997, and one sold for £1,400. Although a signed one for charity went for £6,600

She does? But they're worth thousands arent they? Probably best to sell a first edition of the first book, hardback when the last book is about to come out. Interest will be high then.

My sister's got a first edition Harry Potter #1 hardback. I'll steal it when she goes to uni before me this year.

20 years isnt enough as that guy said that book was one of the first to be printed with over 1,000,000 first copies. The other books werent. So you would probably have to wait a hundred or so years till most of the other copies are destroyed or recycled. British versions are worth more than American and of course it's better to have a first than a second so it might be worth more depending on the condition and if it's signed.
