I personally think it's ok, but descends into mawkish sentimentality when it should be hard and offensive. Basically, it bottles out at the last moment.

I quite like the serious bits in Scrubs. They're done well.

Scrubs is an excellent show. There are so many genius, genius quotes. I love the bit in the first season where JD diagnoses the Janitor with a penis problem.
JD- "Look I'm going to be straight with you, I saw your penis and I saw a posible melanoma that you really should have checked out"
Janitor- "When did you see my penis"
JD- "Last night when you were showering"
Janitor- "Where were you"
JD- "Oh I was outside in the bushes"

But todays was good, not as funny as usually, but the ending was great. Not something you'd expect from a comedy, nice surprise
