pre-orders. In the US.

Another H2 topic. Yes.

But still, that's a lot.

I doubt either games are gonna be particuarly inventive.

GTA will definetly sell more though, there's more PS2's in America than there are Xbox's worldwide.

It'll sell like hot cakes even though it probably won't be that good.

Agreed. But Halo 2 looks far better. Simply put.

SA has gimmicky new crap and a 5x larger gameworld - and VC was ugly and sh*t as it is, so 5X more of it is not really a good thing. Possibly.

I'm intrested to see how the hell Rockstar intend on running a game 5 times the size of Vice City on a PS2 without massive slowdown and loss in performance.

At times even Xbox had trouble running Vice City smoothly and San Andreas is supposed to have much imporved draw distances on top of the larger landscapes, I can't imagine for a second that it's gonna work.

I've never bought a hot cake. I will buy Halo 2 though.

The reason the Xbox had trouble with Vice City is because Rockstar to their coding in middleware, as opposed to actual hardware. Middleware is generally somewhat inefficient. Microsoft have started trying to improve it with their XNA middleware. It also means porting should be easy.

The thing is I can guarentee all 4 of my local game retailers will sell the title so if I want it I'd go in and pick it up.

No need to pre-order anything.
