It's all very well telling newbies what to do, but I think something also needs to be said to some of the regulars.

When a newbie arrives, and they start a thread that has been discussed before, don't just say we've already done this! Read it. Everyones point of view is valid, they might have something new to add to the issue.

Don't immediatley jump on newbies for their spelling and grammar. If it's just lazines, fair enough, but not everyone can spell very well. Remember some people that use these forums may be quite young.

Attack netspeak by all means though!

Don't turn threads on the FOG (Prime) to idle banter, that's what this forums for.

Feel free to respond to this however you feel. Just because I have the 'mark of the notable' doesn't put me above these rules, so expect me to follow them too.

Yes, but I'm not sure if Cheatguru has developed the ability to come up with his own opinions yet.

Yeah, this newbie bashing stuff is getting silly. I don't like it when topics get repeated all the time... mainly because they add nothing new to the subject. It's just another bog-standard opinion.

What's wrong with the forums these days are that no-one fights anymore. Nobody is biased enough to slarg off another console, and it gets boring. Not even I have the heart to point out how pathetic the PS2 is anymore... ;0)

Yeah, I know console wars is boring... but it's slightly more entertaining than anything else around here at the moment.

I agree with Meka, some of the regulars are a bit harsh to newbies. I've done it myself, by ignoring a topic like "The Future of Gaming". Yes, it has been done before, but as Meka says, everyone has an opinion.

Goaty has a good point, some of the newbies like Guru do seem to need to be kicked into next week!
