... I guess, but I'm not sure.

Is this just ridiculous? Or is it me?

For those too lazy to click, a lawyer is basically calling for The Sims 2 to be banned because you can see nude characters in the game. No sex. No shennanigans of any kind.

Just naked pixels.

Pathetic.

I can see why as age of consent is 18. Shouldn't really affect us Brits then. Cheers

The thing with Hot Coffee is that no one over here really gives a s***.

The games is classified as an 18, and that's that.

It's only over in the US all the fuss is going on.

And as for Hot Coffee - why the problem - its an 18. Kids ARE NOT supposed to play it so its their own fault if they are affected by its content. That problem is the parents responsibility - they can't complain as it is them who ignored the certificate and allowed their kids into the gangsta world of GTA.

Exactly. It requires a bit of google searching (for 99.99% of people) to get to the naked (NOT REAL) people.

You can't accidentally do it.

What a load of nonsense this all is. I mean its not as if it is being packaged so the game contains nudity is it? I wouldn't know exactly how to modify the game and I wouldn't want to - but I'm sure the kids that play this game play it for the game and not for the programming code. I'm not sure about you, but not many kids (well the ones that play awful games like the sims...) I know can reprogramme any part of their game - so whats the problem?

I think people like this cause an up-roar and don't bother to take a step back and look at what they're actually protesting against.

San Andreas was fine when it was just drugs, violence, murder and theft, but as soon as sex comes into it it's "OMG OMG OMG ban this filth!!!". I just don't understand why most will deem it fine for drugs and violence to be in a game, but will go to the ends of the earth to try and stop any sexual content.

Do drugs, violence, murder and theft keep mankind going? No they don't.

What does keep our existence going then? We all know the answer to that...

He's basically saying that it's alright for game content to show acts that harm people, but it's not alright to show something that only has the slightest whiff of the one thing that the human race relies on to further it's existence.

That's really sensible logic...

The bloke is trying to get support, drum up controversy with those groups who hate everything.

The Daily Mail
Mothers Against Rock

etc etc

He fires up any old tat about about games, gets Media interviews, gets money.

Thats just the way it is, unfortuanatley.

'If someone with an extreme amount of expertise and time were to remove the pixels, they would see that the sims have no genitals. They appear like Ken and Barbie."

But that's not good enough for Thompson. "The sex and nudity are in the game. That's the point," he said.'

Ahaha, for once I find myself defending EA...
