I've been fighting the flames of spyware and adware for the passed 24 hours. And despite making it so my computer is workable it is still funking around with my system.

I've got 2 anti-spyware software running on the computer but scan after scan unveils more files making its way onto my system.

Does anyone have any advice here?

I'm also looking for a free virus protection thingy... where would I go for that.

Are you referring to the "combating" error on the main page. Because I know, it wasn't deliberate.

Right I'll install Norton.

I have adaware and it doesn't cost me anything.

I also have Microsoft's BETA thing.

And I now have spybot.

Everyones happy.

Spybot vs adaware review, Spybot wins.

Norton will work, and Spybot rather than adaware :).

Adaware makes you pay to have it running in the background, spybot is completely free, and also has TeaTimer to stop yor startup settings etc. being changed.

For a free anti virus try AVG - http://www.grisoft.com

For the spyware I'd make sure you have got adaware (The newest version) and also Microsofts Anti spyware installed and use them fairly regularly.
