Well, there are two 'solos'. The first one is rather crazy, yes, and then the filter thing comes in, if that's the one you're talking about and it's completely mental. The second one is near the end of the song and it's a bit more melodic. I just have to learn the first part of the second solo and I'm done. The tabs are truly awful and I've worked out what I know so far on my own : / Omar's playing style doesn't really follow many rules so it's a bit trial and error.

I have live mp3s and they're amazing.
Chippxero saw them live and I seem to remember him saying that they were awesome.

I really cannot see them being more than just noise live.

But. I have a feeling I'm wrong.

It's all crazy. Crazy I tell you. All the tabs for their songs are woeful so I have to correct them as I learn them.

I wouldn't have thought any MV stuff is exactly easy to play.
