1.Sega's primary talent, i.e. making games can be shared with all, not just DC owners. Games like Crazy Taxi will appear on the PS2.
2. Sega will be able to make games for the other formats, and also make them so that they will be able to take advantage of the other consoles power.
3. It will stop a small proportion of the market buying a console that is under supported. The DC was a good console in its own right, but the small number of 3rd party developers couldn't make enough high quality games to keep up with the rest of the market.
Sorry, couldnt resist that one.
PSX: Blur. Initially funny, but seem to have developed maturity and lengthy shelf-life
Dreamcast: Rick Astley. We thought it was ok, but soon realised the utter pants of it.
PS2: Limp Bizkit. Some love it, some hate it. Here to stay for a while yet
Gamecube: Tweenies. Kids love 'em, but the grown-ups curse and fork over more money
X-Box: Gorillaz. Not sure yet, amusing enough, some substance. Wait for next album before deciding.
Hey, this is fun

It was a little mean, wasn't it!
NES: Oasis
Sega Master System: Blur
Sega Master System was clearly better, but the NES was more successful.
Atari: The Eagles.
Your dad remembers them well and tries to get you to have a listen, and whilst yeah...it's kind of fun, you stop as soon as you realise what you're doing.
Neo-Geo: Phil Collins
3DO: Yazz
Jaguar: Star Turn on 45 pints
A long wait between releases, but worth it.
Xbox: Hearsay. Bandwagon jumping, overhyped, would attend the opening of an envelope.
Pick me Bill!
Yeah, it looks good but something just ain't right.

In Take That, Robbie was popular, but only with a small

Leaving Take That was a good move for young Robbie, and he's

So if Sonic is the Robbie Williams of gaming, who is
