it's about the story of the bush and his bodyguard needing an ambulance because they fell off their bikes after stacking into a policeman.

I think it would be safe to say the average US/UK person would be more interested in watching news situated around bomb scares/terrorism rather than the G8 summit. Unfortunately.
Supposedly been a bomb threat in Birmingham earlier on, too.
My fiancee Juls says theres been tons of coverage on it in Florida.

although again the cynic in me is saying "only because bush was here for G8"
