Earlier, I was at the cash point and there was some woman about 50 there.

She took ages and she kept taking her card out and putting in back in and re-entering the number then she walked away so I stepped forwards to get my money out then the thing started bleeping and then about £300 came out.

Who here would have taken that and would it have made much difference if it was just £10 coming out.

I'd take it. I have no feelings.

I'd have taken it out, ran up to her and given it her back. Either that, or hand it to the police station and inform the bank that the lady who withdrew £300 at such and such a time didn't collect it and that the police have it.

It's the right thing to do.

I would have taken it if there were no cameras present and no-one else watching, also I would have made sure not to use the cashpoint. If there was anyone watching and the cashpoint was on the wall of a bank I would take the money and say to the witness "Must give this to the Manager", enter the bank and either stay there for a few minutes or make enquiries about a different matter. Either way that £300 would be mine.

Technically, you'd be stealing if you kept it. I'm pretty sure I remember a case where this type of thing came to court and the person who took the money had to pay loads back.

Anyway, if you knew who was there last you have no excuse not to go after them and give the money back...

I'd have caught up with her and given it back. I'm nice like that.
If she'd disappeared down the street and was nowhere to be seen...dunno. Could go into the bank and explain I suppose.
