I grin, I grin, I grin because I'm happy.

This is awesome. Although what the hell are you doing mucking us about, Stevie?

Perhaps we've just signed someone awesome that he wants to play alongside, like another 'Boro midfielder. Maybe Doriva.

I suspect I smell the stench of an agent in this somehow..

I always assumed he would stay at Anfield; whether they had won the Champions' League or not.

I mean, if Chelsea and Real Madrid are the best - and, perhaps even, only - offers he was gonna get; what would he gain in leaving?

If he went to Chelsea, who would he be?
Behind Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Damien Duff, Arjen Robben, he's just another cloud in an already crowded sky. They all look the same.
Where would he play? WOULD he even feature regularly enough?
No matter how big he is, neither Lampard or anyone is gonna give way.
And as for Claude Makelele, well, we all know Mourinho has some special feelings for him!

It's a similar story at Real too, only they're a club, like Man United, who are now falling quickly in the WRONG direction.

Stay at Liverpool, at he can lead HIS OWN team to glory.

I have now reached the opinion that he is an egotistical publicity seeking Scouse moron.

I can just see him sat in his gold house, on his gold computer, searching chat forums reading all the "Stevie don't go!" threads, weeping into his massive gold hankies:
"Dey love me, dough, don't dey dough!"

Still, he's not half bad on the football pitch.

He thought Liverpool didn't want him? Was he peeking through the door at a board meeting? A conversation between Moores and Rafa?

"Now, Item 1. Do we want Steven Gerrard?"
"What, the best midfielder in the world?"
"Yah."
"Our talisman and captain?"
"Yup."
"The man who inspired us to the European club and provides a true link with the fans?"
"Yes. Him. Do you want me to say it in Spanish?"
"Do we want him, hmmm...Let me sleep on it."
"Alright. Item 2. Zenden shirt sales reached 1 today.."
