Actually, that's not entirely true - it's just the rest of the world's perception of British films. And it's all Richard Curtis's fault. Took me until I re-watched Four Weddings on telly the other day to realise how much I actually loathe every single one of his movies - Notting Hill, Bridget Jones, Love Actually - every last one is awful and stars Hugh Grant as a bungling idiot.

No one deserves quite such a kicking as Richard Curtis.

Then what happens when you need to sharpen your pencil?

It's good for pencils to lose their point every now and then otherwise your sharpener would've been a waste of money, wouldn't it?

I quite like Mr. Bean, actually. It's a bit random and nonsensical but not every TV show needs to be intellectually challenging with a deep meaning. Pointless is good in small doses.

Its a shame that the likes of "Four Weddings" and "Notting Hill" are the best internationally known British films.

If more was done to make the rest of the world aware of films such as Guy Ritchie's masterpieces "Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" then I'm sure people would start to take British cinema a bit more seriously.

But no, spastics will always flock to the cinema to see what kind of idiotic character Hugh Grant will be playing this time.

Yeah, but he does it on purpose, trying to get the focus back on him. It's best just to ignore it.

No doubt he'll be on saying it's just a figure of speech, and he didn't mean to relate it to himself, but we know.
