I know I should look myself but wondered if anyone had just bought one at a good price and could save me the hassle, cos I'm a lazy git, bascially.

Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Guys,

As far as I can see the cheapest price around, to be found in GAME.

40gb iPod's for £219.99

A similarly priced model, Dixons do a 20gb iPod for £209.99.

A ten pound difference to get double the capacity is a pretty good deal as far as i'm concerned.

Amazon normally has the best prices for everything, of you do end up gtting it from Amazon, drop me an email/whatever... Would be nice if I could get 6% of what you spend through their affiliates scheme :-p :-)

Unfortunately you forgot the factors of single platform games, controllers, etc.

I have an iPod. I have a PS2.

I have an iPod because it's so damn easy to use and ergonomical etc. I don't care if I can get 3.4445GB more and FM radio and a spectro analyser if I get a Zen. I want something that makes it easy for me to play my MP3s.

I have a PS2 because it was the cheapest package deal at the time and I was very happy with the controller, from my PS1 days. It also had all the games I wanted and the style of games I wanted to come.

In total I'm happy. That's all that matters. As long as someone has considered other options (Ie. exercised sensible buying strategies) then what's the problem?

Ah, good point. I look at my PS2 and think to myself "Hard dang, if only I'd remembered that clunking disaster of a green hellbox has better circuitry."

I like my PS2, it has all the games I want and if I get a desire to play Halo I'll go round my mates house, whilst listening to my iPod to pass the time, and ask him to use his XBox. Of course, he'll have to unplug his PS2 first.

*sigh*

Because they have superior rivals on the market which ARE better. Popularity doesn't mean it's good. Like the Xbox and GC are actually better than the PS2 (in terms of hardware... after all, you can't use the argument that "My mp3 has better songs than yours", so I see that this comparison is valid for this purpose), however the PS2 has sold masses more.

"I want an iPod"
"Get something else"
"No, really, I'm OK with an iPod."
"You can get a Zen for cheaper."
"Seriously, iPod for me."
"Lots of people have iPods, they must be bad! Get a Zen."
"Shut up"

I like my iPod. It's good. Why must people always insist everything else is better if so many people like iPods? You really hate that Caesars song that much?

In this case, break off all associations with them and recommend all their other peers do likewise.
