So a few million people enjoyed the concerts, but how many actually give a sh-t about the millions who die needlessly every year?

I don't want to form an opinion from one article, but it seems about right to me. Live 8 was all about raising awareness apparently, but I think on that score it failed miserably.

And why did the BBC cut to 'Wossy' when the video messages were playing? That was just OBSCENE. Forget the serious bits, lets have some jokes and music clips.

well, your comma and the word 'but' suggests that they were two individual parts of one overall point, so if you want to be so pedantic you're screwed there. Also, what small_todge said made perfect sense anyway, you were just stating the blindingly obvious.

But if you read the whole thing, you'll realise that it's intended as one point. You can't just quote one part of a sentence if the whole sentence is intended as one point (which it obviously was). It doesn't work that way.

It's like someone posting a sentence that has the word "black" in it, then someone quoting that one word and calling the other person a racist, even if the post was about something completely unrelated. You just can't do it.
