i have an isdn connection on my pc , im hoping that the ps2's pings will be as good or better than my pcs.what do u think??

I heard it does have 56k capabilities but I'm not certain!

Yes - one is a 56k analogue modem socket, the other is an Ethernet connector for cable modems.

Does the Sony modem have 56k as well as broadband?
Looking at the pictures there are 2 sockets, 1 is for the broadband the other looks like a standard 56k modem socket.

Approximately 8 times faster at best.

ISDN = 64Kbit/sec
Cable modem = upto 512Kbit/sec

512 / 64 = 8

At least I think that's how it works out...
