I like the idea of 2 player. Maybe the next GTA will have everything 2 player. Have to wait and see...

2 Player pool is in the bars. Go up to a pool table and press triangle and it should give you some options. To play 2 player free-roam you have to find the 2 player icon. I've only found 1 which is by the run down building near the grove. To get there you have to face Big Smokes house and turn right. Run down the way you're facin guntil you come to the abandoned building with a washing line in the middle and ahave a look round. You should find it pretty easily.
