I'm putting my money on the GameCube from Nintendo. Many would call me a fool, and don't think that I haven't read your hurtful posts about me, but ignoring that, from the evidence I have ben able to gather, the Gamecube will reign supreme.
The Xbox will have a lot of money behind it, but really it doesn't offer much to the casual gamer. The titles are uninspiring at best, and downright pathetic at worst. No doubt Bill Gates will try to brainwash people into buying it with an ingenius marketing campaign, but he won't pull the wool over these eyes.
Next I move on to the Playstation 2. Yes that 'difficult' second console (or is that only albums?) Sony have done really well to but together such an impressive machine so soon before either Nintendo or Microsoft could, but could this also be their downfall? Sega have suffered in the past by launching its consoles too early, could the same happen here?
I think not, as they have already built a large user base, and they have a large number of third party companies working on ever increasingly impressive titles. I think that the PS2 will stick around for the near future, but Nintendo will be the one for me.
Why do I choose Nintendo? To me it's all about the games, and the games I like are on the Gamecube. Not only this, these games are exclusives, and are never likely to appear on another console. (Though we were saying that about Sonic once.) Games like Luigi's Mansion appeal to me. It looks original, and special. Then there's Animal Forest. A communication game. Again, original, and special. Then there's Metroid, Zelda and Mario to come. There's a host of more adult oriented titles for those that are soo inclined too. Nintendo are saying that they have the 'difference'. They promise innovation, and from what I've seen, they got it!
Add to this the GBA, a trojan horse if you will. What I mean by that is that thousands will buy the GBA. If the links between the GBA and the Gamecube are sold to the GBA owners, you get Gamecube owners. The link is also something that no other company has going for it. Again it's originality and innovation.
So it's the Gamecube for me all the way. You choose what you want, but I know what I'd advise.
Thanks for reading, and please don't just say how crap my spelling is or it's a crap post, it took me ages.
And anyway, this wasn't Cheatguru.
We've blasted him for being a tool, he tries something good and I think he should be told, genuinely, if we like it or not.
I'll be the 1st one to jump on him if he blabbers on and on about utter pants, but he's put a lot of effort into this.
If that makes me a hypocrite, so be it, but I'm the 1st to say thanks or well done if I think it's warranted.
Guru, well done mate for not being stupid.
Seriously mate, well done for this post.
I enjoyed it, informative and had a good argument and opinion.
Thanks.
