Never checked before: Mine's a Thomson and aside from every 3 months when I get one dirty disc error, and rotate the CD 90 degrees so everything's fine, I've had no problems what-so-ever.
Infact I've had less trouble with it than with my N64. :P

Thanks bullet. Mines the samsung: strange they should bethe best. I remember when Tiny stuck their CD-RW drives in a load of PCs and had to call em' back cos they wrote with errors.

Philips in my UK one. Got a Samsung in my US one but that's retired now, might as well take it to America with me and trade it in for stuff I'll actually play.

Samsung and Philips on mine. Thank god. I'll probably get the PC version though.
