Runs like a beast on my Thomson, the only time I can really hear it loading is when the game starts up and when i'm entering a new house for the first time.

Mine's a Philips but all games run like a piece of crap on my Xbox.

Microsoft used 2 types of drive right from the beginning. I think it was an issue with getting one drive. I believe they added a third make later on...
I bought my Xbox way back when the Sega double pack was 'teh amazing!!!!111' and mine apparently has a Samsung drive. Thought mine was one of the old ones...

Pleasing though, I bought mine about 3 months after they were released in the UK so I'm guessing that the older drives in general are the better ones
