ok, this isn't about the future of gaming....but it is a prime topic in my view.

A hotmail user who uses the email address [email protected] has somehow aquired and submitted a picture of me onto hotornot.com

I did not give him permission to do so.

For my own personal reasons, I do not wish for my photo to be on there but he refuses to get it back off.

I have been trying to get him to remove it for ages by talking to him on MSN but he wont.

Can all of you who are in favour of your own web security, email him in protest....a bit like a petition.

I have warned him that I'll go to the police, and I have contacted the website, however I reckon I'll only get back an autoreply.

Thankyou for reading this and sorry Tony, I know it's not about the FOG, but it's about the security of webusers which I feel is important.

I agree with edgy. He's obviously a hacker and I will be sending him my most abusive e-mail.

Actually the term is a hacker! Hackers aren't the ones who get the passwords! Hackers are the ones who actually get into the files using either a cracked password or by other means...e.g. a program they wrote themselves which can get around passswords!

Most people wouldn't do something like that because either they don't know how, or they're decent enough not to.

I just did a long piece on this in the PC forum, the ease at which they can obtain the passwords depends on the security of the server that they are hosted on - Hotmail is notorious for being full of holes, and I don't know how the Special Reserve servers are protected.
Unless it's a friend, someone who knows you personally or someone you've offended, you're not at too much risk; the average cracker (not hacker please..) has no desire to steal radom passwords for individual people they've never met.

I don't want to scare anyone but it means that hackers can quite easily get our addresses!

What happened on MSN can also happen on here just as easily!

For hackers or those with hacking programs or a friend with them, it's not hard to find passwords...

Don't think this helps in any way, but that e-mail address ([email protected]) apparently belongs to the owner of http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Garden/1315/index.html, a phonetic Sailor Moon lyrics site...
