The third GBA incarnation.. teeny tiny thing with changeable faceplates. Doesn't have the clamshell design but is backlit.

So.. too much? Will people get confused with two new Ninty handhelds on the market and neither of them technically as good as the PSP?

Exactly, and my point is I'd rather this happen for me right now than Ninty announce the GBA2 and me having to fork out for yet another Ninty handheld, a year after the last one. I don't care if Ninty want to release a new GBA in the meantime, it'll help sales no end. If you don't want it, you don't buy it, end of story.

Yes, it's gone on for a long time, but it really should stop.

Come on guys this is nothing new.

Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket - and in Japan the Gameboy Lite.

Gameboy Colour had various special editions with Pokémon on them etc, as the GBA has had as well.

I'm not going to buy one but it'll sell well.

And also, if a GBA2 was announced, for release later this year for example, then that's *another* handheld for people to get, right after they've just gone and got a DS. At least with the Micro people have a choice whether to get it, whereas if you had wanted a GBA2 title you'd have to have bought the new console.

Oh I know, all the companies are guilty, not just Nintendo.

But as long as people still fall for this strategy, the companies will continue to exploit it.

No, it WAS said about the SP. Now the GBA market has to be utterly milked.

That could have been said about PSone but it still sold well.

Precisely. Anyone remotely interested in GBA will either have the original, the SP or will have gone for a DS and will use the GBA slot on that.

It's not 'prolonging', it's blatant 'milking'. There's absolutely no need to release such a device.

Not tat, but an attempt at prolonging a system that is cheaper to produce. It's good business, but not good for the loyal fans.

It's just Nintendo looking for more ways to empty your pockets with the same old tat.
