I just had to make this a topic. Don't know if it's been said before, but these are my views.

I consider myself one of the last real games players in this world, due to the fact that I do not cheat at games, do not argue about which console is better, and more importantly, I do not buy pirated games.

Fact: It doesn't just go to help breaking your machine, it also goes towards breaking the law.

All the people I know, except for a couple of good exceptions who are parents, buy pirated games. I know it's a cheaper way of getting software, but in the long run it's going to destroy the industry, I love more than anything. It has to stop, and any piraters reading this, has to stop. What's a few quid selling these games, when you could do and probably feel better by just buying the proper games.

My second fact is, if you people want to buy cheaper games, just wait until they come down in price. It'll help the games companies, and hopefully give you a clearer concience when the industry ends, all because of you.

I hope this sinks in to a few people, because seriously, I hate this kind of thing and so should you. Try to prevent these games getting out, instead of buying them.

I'm very happy to have good responses like this.

Maybe all companies should follow the example of Codemasters with their virus code in their games, and Phantasy Star where you have to have a code to input into the game to play the game. That's stumped these crooks and a real good way to stop it. Now it's basically up to the companies to bring out these ideas and piracy will die off a slow and well deserved death.

I do have to say though, that as that idea is still a couple of years away if they all do it? I say to people buying pirated games, to stop now.

The only fight again piracy was using cartridges, but as they have been replaced by cds, with the exception of the Gameboy Color and Advance, there is every chance that eventually the new consoles may breed pirate games too. It was reported that the Dreamcast gd-roms could not be pirated, but it has been done now. Its understandable that the game companies want to progress the much better and useful form of cd storage for their games, and it seems a shame that piracy has a good chance of coming out of this
