"Earlier Lucas admitted his films have distinct sets of fans - the over 25s loyal to the first three films and the under 25s who adored the two prequels."
Really? What the hell gives him that idea? The majority of the users of this site are under 25 and I don't think any one of us would say that the prequels are the better films. I seriously can't think of a single person I know that would agree. Maybe it's an American thing, or maybe Lucas is just making up crap to make himself feel better. Who knows?
Lucas obviously doesn't really know a whole lot about the fans of his creation.

Apparently he's tinkered with them again for the 6-disc special *special* edition boxset release sometime in 2006...*sigh*
Jedi > Hope > Empire
Though I was 7 when I first saw them, and the proper ones where the walls were blue due to bad quality.

Such is the nature of the prequel, I'm afraid. What do you want him to do, go back and somehow make the original trilogy 'better' by changing key scenes and adding new elements? Don't be silly! What lunacy you speak of!
Oh, and those wipes. Grrrrr. They're part and parcel of Star Wars, but I do hate them...
Not a hard choice, is it.
Come Luke, let us make crazed anal love until the early hours.
