My Bloody Valentine used to play at a volume that hurt, literally.
They had a section called "The Holocaust" which was just a squall of noise, several people had nosebleeds and fainted.

But the loudest gig I've ever personally been to was Ministry & NIN at Brixton Academy. Christ, my chest hurt for 2 days afterwards and I swear I was sterile for nearly a year. Awesome gig though.

The KLF (Uh uH, 3am is gonna rock you) Had a sonic tank, that was supposedly making cows miscarrage.

Meat Beat Manifesto did a Set whereby the bass was so deep, the toilets overflowed, as the crowds bowels went into uproar.

None lethal weapons are definately there...

Good stuff, you can be a 'sound' military advisor.

Nothing of the sort. The idea was to induce temporary deafness by means of an electronic 'bomb' that would calculate and reverse things like the phase angles of sound waves in the atmosphere (within range), causing no sound to occur. Look up how speakers work, it's basic stuff, really. The devices already exist commercially as a means of cancelling out sound, so it wasn't a big deal really. I think they were more concerned that someone in the same building wanted to make such a thing!

Sonic disruptors are already used intrusively and psychologically (look at Waco), I think what I was developing would be better put to use disguising troop movements. Although I was looking at numerous ideas, so more harmful 'weapons' could have come into play.

Shame, would be interesting to see mass armies apparently "faint".

It was based partly on speaker cone theory, partly on how the ear receives sounds, and partly on how surround sound is coded and decoded. I had it worked out better on paper, and it's late, and it never got very far anyway before I withdrew. The theory was quite solid though - had a few deep discussions with some lecturers, one of whom worked for the MoD.

How does that work exactly? By emitting a sound of a varying high frequency? Or something like that....

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
