I'm only doing two GCSEs this year, maths and French. I've already done the French speaking and submitted the coursework for both, still 4 papers to do though (maths with a calculator, maths without a calculator, French reading, and French listening).

I've got that a month from today. I hate art.

I've had a whole week of 'mock mock' GCSEs exams, but they were just hiding the fact that most of them were mere end of year tests. I even got study leave for them.

Only one left on Tuesday. A full day of art.

Would be useful if the teacher didn't limit your potential by sticking you down on the foundation paper. "The maximum you can get is a C", what the hell is that bulls***?

I sat my GCSE geography mock paper at foundation level and ended up with a better grade than most of the people who took the higher. The teacher knew nothing about my ability. Thankfully I'm taking my real one at higher level.

Would be better if there was one universal paper for each subject that started off with simple questions that would gradually get harder. The more capable students would be able to answer more of the questions so their mark would reflect their ability.

I've got my first GCSE's (English Lit and German Listening/Reading) within the next couple of weeks. Then half term. Then into the exams proper for the next 3 weeks. Tremendous.

I went my entire schooling using one rule coming up to exams, and that was never to listen to the grade your teacher thinks you'll get, aim for what you think you're capable of.

I dont think any teacher of mine ever managed to estimate my grade right. I had a teacher who told me all year Id fail the higher paper and should do ordinary level, I got an A1 in the higher paper, had I listened to her I would have lost 40 very valuable points.

Well that was a major fluff up. The reading paper went ok, I think I may have just scraped a pass, but in the 2 critical essays I found myself blabbering on repeating myself every 3 lines.
