Would be useful if the teacher didn't limit your potential by sticking you down on the foundation paper. "The maximum you can get is a C", what the hell is that bulls***?
I sat my GCSE geography mock paper at foundation level and ended up with a better grade than most of the people who took the higher. The teacher knew nothing about my ability. Thankfully I'm taking my real one at higher level.
Would be better if there was one universal paper for each subject that started off with simple questions that would gradually get harder. The more capable students would be able to answer more of the questions so their mark would reflect their ability.
I dont think any teacher of mine ever managed to estimate my grade right. I had a teacher who told me all year Id fail the higher paper and should do ordinary level, I got an A1 in the higher paper, had I listened to her I would have lost 40 very valuable points.
