Perfect timing. Halo 2 and Pro Evo 4 are due out and my Xbox has decided to die out on me.

It's still working at the moment, but the fan has gone really loud, the disc tray wont always open (gets jammed on nothing as if the sliding mechanism is loose) and as I've already previously stated, the DVD playback has gone all dodgy.

I really am going to have to consider getting a replacement and transferring all the game saves I can to the other.

I hope it does last me throughout Halo 2 and Pro Evo 4...I don't want to fork out on a replacement til atleast after Christmas!

I've got car insurance to pay next month - so I've got to be careful with my money :S

That's why I'm hoping it'll last...

My warranty runs out in November 2003 :P

I did give them a call about my faulty DVD drive and they said it was definately a hard drive problem and that for £80 they'd have it sorted.

I laughed.

"My DVD playback is faulty"
"Without seeing the Xbox I can only guess and say you have a hard drive problem"

Just wondering, and seeing as I can't be bothered creating a new thread, is there a problem with my Xbox. On a couple of games when I try to save it just freezes whilst attempting to save. Thanks for any help.

Now that DOES sound like a memory problem. Do these games have the ability to save to memory card?

If so, it might be worth trying it to see what happens

It's odd that it just seems like these two games in particular, the others work fine. :S
