Surely if someone is genuinely stupid then it is not right to fire abuse at them? That should only be done to people who act stupid on purpose, or know what they are doing but willingly continue to do it regardless.

Exactly what you should be doing. You don't want to drive them away, but if they're stupid enough to do it again then they deserve a load of abuse.
