I'm sure someone else other than me is studying A-level history?

If so, are you having to fit the "Scramble for Africa" topic into a 3-week period or is it just my lame unorganised sixth form?

It seems a little rubbish to try and cram a whole modle and 1/3 of the final exam into 3 weeks.

Gah! Rubbish.

We got two essays set based on part of our course (Bolshevik uprising and the Corn law - russian and british respectively) we were allowed a page of notes for each, and then had to answer an exam question in timed conditions as an essay.

It's basically to mark your essay-writing technique when you're allowed preperation I think. I did pretty well on it, got full marks on both.

The cool thing is, this year I can get mid-C's in my exams for History and English and end up with A's overall due to how well I did last year. I can go as low as E's in both and get B's overall which I need to get into my uni-of-choice. It's pretty reassuring.

All my modules are essay based anyway.

We're doing roughly the same material. Only you're not doing the dull British Political history. However Ireland is covered in the British foreign policy - home rule and suchlike. Thought my course finishes in 1900.

Seems the timeperiod I study is bigger.

The german hist I do goes from Bismarck up until WWII

and the Russian stuff goes from Tsarism through the cold war, up until WWII

Shocking!

Gah I just looked at my sheet.

Its:

> Russian - 120
> Times essays - 60

Either the way the A-levels are equally skewed 100-each.

Ummmm, I have 3 days to start (and finish) a project for Adv Info Systems.

Not to mention teh fact that the last two days are going to be our last two, we won't be allowed in on Wednesday, so we basically do what all 6th years do on Tuesday instead.

Oh, and I don't have Info Systems on Monday, so yeah.

I'm never going again and I need to do my project for it or I can't sit the exam.

I envy your three weeks.
