More specifically posts that exist purely to criticise other members or members.

Surely these are in breach of the terms and conditions of using Special Reserve? I'm not even going to name names or even use the word 'spam'.

It's just blatant bad netiquette, keep your thoughts to yourself or at least confine them to a thread or threads which have annoyed you. I don;t wan't to see page after page of posts all criticising other users for what they've posted.

It's not big. It's not clever. Stop it now.

Celestine I don't care what people on the internet who don't know me think. You don't know me, and I don't particularly care if you like me or not - I don't need to be liked on an internet chatforum to validate my own insecurities. You bring a lot of the criticism on yourself by a simple lack of self awareness. Think about how other people will view your posts before you post them if you care about what they think. Or just stop worrying about it. These people don't know you, it's not important to you what they think, or at least it shouldn't be. I'm not particularly nice to you because you annoy me and I'll tell you that. I'd prefer to tell you and have you change than keep it quiet and have you continue to annoy me and other people. I'm neither nice nor hateful towards most people, but if someone deserves ridiculing, I'll do it, and if I like someone, I'll be nice to them.

On the contrary most noteables that I've seen certainly have the ability to 'bite' when they feel it is appropriate. There is certainly only one who I can think of who remains 'nice' whatever is thrown at him...

I think that's the problem right there. There are real people behind these names. Some come here because they have friends and it IS a part of their daily life. Why be an ass when you can just be nice..?

Well, being "nice" is hard for stupid people. It's easier to be evil and mean. That's my rationale. Notables are quite intelligent, friendly people..they're nice and very entertaining to behold on my monitor. I'm not getting that from you gerrid..

Hmm, nice to see that another serious thread has degenerated into the usual array of name-calling that masquerades as 'General Chat' these days...

I thought at least some of you would be struck by the significance of this coming from a poster who has never had one of these so called 'threads' dedicated to him...

i.e. it's not just the people that you aim them at who it annoys...

Yeah I know it's horrible to take it out on others and I agree. It's not necessary at all. Maybe the people who do it just don't have anyone else in 'real life' [GAH i hate using that] to take their anger out on so do it here to seem big and haaarrrd.
