Just watched it on DVD and forgot how wonderful it really is. It's basically a story about finding yourself and coming to terms with that, and it's just so sublimely performed and put together, I urge everyone to buy it and watch it. Zach Braff is fantastic, miles away from JD, and he directs as well - it's a bang up job for a first effort. Natalie Portman is incredible, a twitchy bundle of energy and a compulsive liar, but utterly adorable and believable.
Any film that makes the line "I've only known you for four days and you've changed my life" and not make it sound cheesy is a winner in my book.
Garden State. Go buy it.

Yeah great film. Not selling here as well as I'd expected it to though. It's come in in mid-chart positions everywhere, I expected it to be near top after all the fuss it caused. Perhaps most people picked it up on R1 back at Christmas.
It truly is an excellent film. I first read about it when it was at Sundance last year and thought "cool, JD's made a movie" but had no idea it would be the brilliant film that it was.
Plus it introduced me to The Shins.

I saw this since you brought it to the forum's attention last time. Couldn't agree more - absolutely wonderful film, not actually about an awful lot, but just a joy to watch. I'll probably buy the DVD at some point too.
