Yes, I know there's some other election happening today, but coming this time next week is the vote that can really make a difference to people's lives - UKchatforums.com Notable.

Every three months the regulars of the board vote to give one member "Notable" status. The colour of their name (which is changed to Gold) and their member title is the only difference that you'll see, but the increased fear and respect from their peers will be obvious to all.

The vote will be held on Thursday 12th May. There will be an official voting thread put up in General Chat on Thursday morning, and you'll get until midnight to place your vote. Unfortunately JATs and Newbies are unable to vote, this will be for Regulars and Notables only.

This time round, as well as your normal vote for Notable, you'll also be able to vote for someone to relinquish their Notable status and rejoin the ranks of the Regulars. Use it wisely.

So next Thursday then. Don't forget it.

As for all this voting malarky.. the status, the colour, everything, it means nothing. There's zero difference between a regular, a notable, a newbie and a JAT, it's only the people that matter. I've never liked this 'rank' system and I never will, it causes more problems than I've ever found it fun, and I swear it's gone so downhill since it was introduced.

The only thing that bothers me is if people actually take the time to vote me out. I don't care about the elevation etc.. it's just that people decide me over everybody else. I think all the notables would feel the same way, except the ones that aren't around who could understand that.

I'm just afraid it's going to become too bitter and serious, trying to pull each others hair and 'yeah! this will show him' way.. but I'd still prefer to be the active notable voted off if one of us has to go. I couldn't bare to see Timmargh crying, and I know Sheepy would end up in a tower somewhere with a rifle, nobody wants that. Goatboy would probably just go on a rampage of womankind so that's not so terrible but still.

But christ... it's the benefit of having your name covered in wee-wee, what else is there? You make the name listings down the side look a little more exciting and that's about it. I'm just worried over how seriously people are going to take this.

I still don't want any Notables voted off! -That- would just be sick and wrong. They must remain immortal and legendary. Not recylable...which makes the entire distinction loose it's luster. Really, it does.

I, for one, don't want it if this is what I'd have to look forward to in maintaining rankage. That it could be taken from me because a band of idiots thought it would be good fun to strip me of my integrity before the masses, just for shiats and giggles.

I say that in an effort to better this place and make it enjoyable for all, dammit..we just exercise our right to NOT vote anyone off. Just CandyFloss in! :P

I would still love to see all the Notables dance anyways!!!

Do you get a 'Special' log-in where you can order free pizza and free girls... I mean drinks....

What's really funny to me is how all the Notable's are coming out of the woodwork to post in this fine General Chat forum to appease the mass of Regulars.. After being non-existent and too snooty to be posting in here, looky thar..another Notable!! *gasps*

Yet, they'll go around claiming their status means nothing, but a color..psh. Riiight. Ain't nothin' but a G-thang, babehh..fer shur. And then, who's making more of a concerted effort because they're bum is on the chopping block???
