Right..OCUK finally got the CPU in stock so here is my final Spec!

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Core (1mb cache ) Socket 939 - £240
Connect 3D ATI Radeon X850 XT PE PCI-E - £340
DFI NF4 Ultra-D PCI-E Socket 939 Motherboard - £108
Enermax ATX 2.0 485w PSU - £65

Those are my new bits which will be added to my

2 x 512mb PC 3200 Crucial Ram
WD 8mb Cache 160gb HDD (Tempted to grab a raptor drive in a few months - anyone got one?)

Quite looking forward to getting this beast up and running. Gotta wait until thurs now as there are loads of OCUK backorders plus my CC company declined my first order because I spent £600 in one go so had to get that sorted! So come thursday I should have it all built ready for some benchmarking! Really looking forward to seeing what this mother can do!

Go for DFI regardless mate..it only "slightly" covers it, the fan works fine. The DFI board is the board of choice for overclockers at the moment. I can already notice windows acting a lot faster with my new rig.

Interesting to hear your point about the X850 and the DFI board, was looking at that combo myself, but will probably go with the MSI nForce4 option instead.

Put it in bro's comp mate lol. He needed a decent GPU. Got it all up and running now. The X850 XT PE sounds like a beast when you first boot up. Had to slightly "mod" my case because the card is dual slot design. Stupid DFI have made the NB fan right next to the PCI-E slot so the card slightly covers the fan. Just formatting now but all seems good! Working 3-8 so I won't get much time on it unfortunately :(

Old spec:

Athlon 64 3200 - Socket 754
MSI K8N Neo socket 754 motherboard (poo for overclocking)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP.

Wasn't bad but 754 was fading out as is AGP.
