These day’s a lot of companies are giving away games to each other and that doesn’t seem too bad but I think it could get a little bit out of hand. Some games from the dreamcast are going to the ps2, the Xbox and the Gamecube and there is no relevance to it. For instance I heard that house of the dead three is going to the Xbox and I am pretty upset because we don’t even know if it’s coming for the DC and why should a game made by Sega for years be put onto Microsoft’s Xmachine and it really takes the biscuit. Also another crazy taxi game is coming for the Xbox but it might not come out for the DC.

Personally I think it is a good idea for games companies to give each other some games but when they start to give away their best games, which make the console what it is you start to get slightly frustrated. You buy a console depending on what games you like and argue with other console owners who’s console is better and giving away brilliant games to each other means that most consoles might be the same soon which is a shame as we all have different tastes.

I was happy that Sega were giving their software business a boost and giving crazy taxi to the playstation 2 as a sign of friendship but now they seem to have started handing them out. In my opinion sega are the company that produces the most original and fun games to play and in a way it would be weird if the Xbox’s best games were from sega and sega were the ones who made the Xbox what it is. Just think how smug Bill Gates would be if the Xcarboardbox succeeded and gave themselves the credit for Sega’s work.

Again I am all for the idea of companies giving games to each other and if a good ps2 game came to the DC then I would buy it but It could get to the point when a consoles performance no longer depends on the solo effort made by the company that built the machine in the first place.

Cheers

You miss a major point, the DC is dead, there will never be another SEGA console, and if they want to start making a profit again they need to put their biggest games and franchises into the homes of as many people as possible. It might not be very good for their own supporters, but would you rather they folded and never see another Sega game again????
