Hi all - not been online for a while due to moving house & re-connection problems but I've heard there is a new Sony mp3 player out but when I went to the shops yesterday - it wasn't there ! Anybody know of the model number so I can try and get some more info on the net. I think its a hard disk one rather than flash.

Many thanks - satch.

Hi there all - thanks for all those replies. I suppose there isn't that much difference between the HD3 & the HD5 except that the new one (HD5) is smaller, lighter and has better battery life. I personally think it looks better as well, overall, but that is just my personal taste. I think the best price I've seen for the HD3 is £149.99 (Pricerunner) but it will probably go even lower once the HD5 is on sale (from 20th May).

Cheers!

I think it depends on whether you think the NW-HD3 is a better looking machine than the NW-HD5 and still worth the extra cash.

I was hoping amazing would drop the price of the NW-HD3 with the release of the HD5 imminent...

and they have...by a whole 10 pounds!!!!!

Perhaps they'll knock a few more pounds off when the HD5 is actually released, i want it for £150.

I don't have a Sony machine. I have an iPod.

Although, if I was in the market for an MP3 player right now, I'd certainly be looking at what Sony has to offer.

The HD5 is out very soon, and apparently is highly rated.

Could be a contender as it has battery life of 40 hours, and holds up to 13000 tracks!!!

And hey life would be boring if we all did the same thing.

Thanks for the reply 'Bullet'. What do you think of your HD3 ? Why did you go the Sony route rather than ipod ? What's the difference(s) between the HD3 and the HD5 ?

Sorry there are so many questions - but I'm eager to learn !!

Many thanks !

NW-HD3 is the current latest one from Sony.

There's an NW-HD5 due out soon for £200 which is really small and the display rotates depending on which way you're holding the unit. Swish.

Sony NW-HD3 or something. I have one myself but I can't be bothered to check if that is completely correct.
