I have an IQ of 120. Just did a test.
Depends on what you're doing with them really, but even then just games are going to increase logical thinking, reactions, problem solving, help with teamwork (online games for example), lateral thinking etc, the majority of which form the basis of IQ tests.
Game programming is going to help maths, physics, AI theory etc, all purely academic pursuits.

I've been an avid gamer / computer user since before I was ten years old. I have a pretty high IQ, and did well academically. I could have done better if I had put my mind to it, but I'm a lazy trout.
