Quite surprised they were available actually. Going to use them for my portfolio, and any freelance work I do will have "geeksmadethis.com" at the bottom, which will be hilarious, I assure thee. Flashy McFlash Flash promo site going up as and when the details get sent to correct address (long story short: I'm a mong. See customer service forum for more). Should be interesting to see if I/we (few mates that I'm hoping to share the work with) can get any work out of it.
I'm sure you'll all do a Whois now and firebomb my house...

I've got my eyes on a domain at the moment, it's a good domain too. I might buy it soonish.
Might.
Should.
Dunno if I will.

When there's a name you've got to buy, it'll itch and scratch untill you buy it. I for one am jealous like a mofo.
[edit] Waht does "Geeksmadethis" say to you? well, erm, "Geeksmadethis". Holly hell, they're going to know exactly what they're doing. :D

Yeah, but I'd have regretted not buying it.
Good news about the portfolio thing too...although I'd like to do more Flash work than the PHP stuff.
I was amazed when I found funfiles.co.uk was still up for sale, so I bought it. Considering how many humour sites there are out there and how every other 'funfiles' domain has been taken I thought it was quite a good buy.
I just made a basic design, uploaded loads of files and left it and it's getting about 150 people a day now with pretty much no promotion of the site anywhere, I had a link once on my site.
Having a good domain name doesn't really mean ~that~ much though, it's about making a name of it. How many people would search for 'albinoblacksheep' if they were looking for random videos and flash files?! How many people would search for 'phi11ip?!'
A mate of mine has just registered 'pcnerds.co.uk' ...

Your perfectly allowed to include work you've done with other companies in your portfolio, afterall, it's your work. Most of mine was done whilst I was at Blackwell Publishing. The only thing to remember is that if you ever leave, someone else will become responsible for that site, and therefore, you run the risk of any links to that site either not working or the work being altered from what you originally did, so it's worth taking screen grabs too for later use.
All this will be reflected in your CV too, so the 2 match up for future/prospective employment/opportunites.
All I do is give a breif description of the site, my role and Overview of the requirements. That's it.
What are the rules with my current company, and using sites I've made for them on the portfolio? Am I allowed to say "work done for blah blah blah"?
