...and I was setting up my account, and it asked me to input my Authentication Key... Where exactly would I find said key?

No offence, but the likelihood of me needing a WoW CD key is pretty slim ;)

But these guys are right, if you're sure there's no CD key included with your game, give our customer services a call on 0870 725 9999 and we will of course get it sorted for you.

Simple solution. Use the 10 day guest pass that comes with the game, send the box back, and carry on with your character when the valid cd key arrives.

That is, if it's a boxed version and not a download. ;P

WoW Blizzard are idiots.

I went in to GAME the other day and they said that half of their batch of WoW copies arrived with no keys.

I think yours might be part of this unfortunate mess...

Take it back, they know about it.
