I was wondering if any of you know which advertising banners are best for making a bit of money on a website?

Currently the site that needs this has a google banner that shows about 3 clickable links but the owner of the site doesn't think this is going to generate the revenue that he desires.

Any help would be great. :)

Yep, that's the idea. As far as I can see it's prefectly fine, so I'll try that in the next few weeks.

I'll tell you if it's successful or not.

In fact, don't know if anyone knows about this, but I'll explain anyway.

What I'm considering in doing is maybe 'investing' £10 into Google Adwords under a keyword/phrase and having the link link to a site in which I gain comission if a sale results from my lead.

I've checked up on the website and there isn't anything from this specific company banning the bidding on keywords.

I know people do it with eBay, but I'm not sure what the results will be like. I suppose it's worth a try.

Dunno if anyone else knows about this?

Google is a good choice, I would have made loads if my banners were pay-per-click.

Other option is Ukaffiliates.com, where you've got over a hundred different companies to choose from. It's all commission based but depending on your site you can choose a company that's related to the content of your site to improve the chance of you selling something.

My click to sale ratio is horribly crap though:

Impressions - 3,317,444
Text Clicks - 3,011
Banner Clicks - 5,573
Total Clicks - 8,584
Sales - 5
Pending Sales - 2
Pending Commission - £2.05
Commission - £ 8.35

Not too bad though, that's in 9 months and I've only really started promoting stuff recently.
