Anyhoo, the point is, if they liked my mate so much, and wanted him for their company, surely they should pay him not the other way round.
I didn't have to pay them anything but would have had to make my own way there and couldn't be bothered. Expenses out of your own pocket possibly - money up front is a probably no-no.
On saying that I occasionally wonder what would have happened if I'd gone to Manchester :(
