My bestmate and his mate went into town today and was approached by 2 'fit' girls who said they was looking for young attractive guys to promote their company. They have to go to London, have a hair cut, stylist, tan session and facial and have a magazine style photo shoot.

The catch is, they both have to pay £50.

Surely if they was promoting their company, the company should pay them? No?

So a hot girl is asking for £50 in return for a good time?

Anyhoo, the point is, if they liked my mate so much, and wanted him for their company, surely they should pay him not the other way round.

If they have to pay it up front then yes it sounds very dodgy. I was once approached to do a hair modelling job (at some kind of mag open evening) and several weeks later they got in touch to tell me they'd cancelled the Leeds night and wanted me to go to Manchester.

I didn't have to pay them anything but would have had to make my own way there and couldn't be bothered. Expenses out of your own pocket possibly - money up front is a probably no-no.

On saying that I occasionally wonder what would have happened if I'd gone to Manchester :(

well maybe not in your eyes.. but like i say these sort of people are out to get pretty faces to "promote their company" they wouldnt just pick anyone off the streets surely? i think that ur friend is just a lucky guy .. mind you if it is a scam then maybe not.
