I'm 16 now and I was told that I can make my own choices.
But lately my family have made my choices.
Tomorrow I wanted to have a look for something but it seemed I didn't have a choice, I had to stay here.
And today was told that in a few weeks my mum was gonna be away all Saturday and I'm being made to go to my grans (I was first told I can stay home). I'm old enough to look after myself and keep myself occupied for a while, but my families over protective and my mum would worry about me all day (I'm not a mummys boy)

Any ideas of how I could get Saturday to myself and have a chance to make my own choices???

Two words:
Stop eating
Trust me, it works every time you want something from your parents, especially when your mother is overprotective.

Say all the bad things you want. At least you can justify it, they make crap music.

It's easy to make a choice.

"Choose."
"I can't, life is sooo urrrrgh and I've write too many poems about life. I can't make any choices."
"Yeah ya can."
"Oh, yeah. You're right. Ta."

Simple. You're welcome

Don't hit him. Ignore them and find friends who are into the same stuff as you.

Your mum and the re-writer thing. She's not trying to control you, she's just saying that you can get them cheaper, that's for your benefit.

All these things you've been saying could be helpfull, I nearly bought my DVD re-writer today but my mum said I'd get them cheaper on the internet before I went out, it's my money I can spend it on the internet or a shop can't I?!

I'll just look for some good named cheap ones on the internet and buy one like she said.

The thing with going out with friends is, I have one friend and he's always going on about me making friends and getting out of the house rather than sitting on the computer and he always goes on about me getting a new bike (I don't have the money right now), the words control freak and p**s off come into my head while he's around. I just ride behind him and then quickly turn away and lose him.

I get moans from my stepmum about me wanting to wear black stuff and listening to heavy metal music (my mum sticks up for me when it comes to that)

I also get called a freak cos I like Slipknot and if I say a bad thing about Avril bloody Lavigne or Goldie Lookin' Chain I'll get a hit.

And a so called friend who shall not be named tries to show off by hitting me or shouting out "shall we hit Peter" just to get attention, I just wanna hit the whole class in the face show them how I feel (i'm not much of a fighter I only use verbal abuse), should I hit them?

My family is strange when it comes to making our own choices. We are basically treated as adults so long as we behave as them.

My Mum and Dad have always been really supportive of me, even from a young age. I think they thought I was mature or something, but it has differed from my sisters to how they treat me.

Take people sleeping over.
Eldest has only just been allowed to have her bloke over about a year ago after they'd been dating for about 2-years. She didn't even live at home at the time and my folks knew they'd slept together before.

The middle of the three had her bloke over without them knowing and they found out later. They left a condom wrapper in the room, (soooo thick), my mum found it and left it atop her washing to let her know they knew. They then had words later.

With me, after only 3-months of dating my lass I asked my Mum if she could stay over in my room and she said yes, but she said when my dad was home I'd have to ask him too. He's a devout Christian, so that was a very embarrassing talk. He said yes though after only 4-months of me going out with her.

Him asking, "are you having a physical relationship with her", was quite a red-face moment...nearly as bad as when he caught me looking at porn on the net.
