First of all do me and yourself a large favour.
Go to the nearest window to you or the one that has the most pleasent view and look out and admire the view for a few minutes of your life.

Myself, I am looking out onto a wonderful site. The sun is setting on a glorius day in Scotland, I can see the mountains in the far distance turning a redish colour. I can see the Glasgow skyline infront of that, wonderful. Moving closer to me I see children playing football, an old couple out for a walk and a neighbour of mine who is a bit insane sweeping a path like she does everyday even though it remains dirty.

What a perfect site I hear you saying, I also agree. It is not a wonder of the world, no breathtaking scenery or a magnificent structure built by humans. What it is, IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE.

If you have not already looked out a window now GO LOOK NOW!

There keep that picture in your head for a few moments. What have you seen? nothing that special I hear you say. Well let me propose this... you may not like the area you live in, you may adore the area you live in and you might not care too much about it well you should.

Imagine the country you life in is at War. Think of what the view you looked at would look like. At the end of the street a house that has been bomed and has left no remains. The neighbours you don't often talk to, DEAD. Killed in their sleep the other night when a bomb was droped on them. The sky has been stained black by the constant smoke and the stench of death is still floating in the air. Your father or indeed yourself have been sent to a forgein land to fight in horendous conditions, you don't know if they are dead or alive, you don't know if you will ever see them again.

This is the reaity of War. It could happen at any time and to any country. Many people are fooled into thinking the world is at a safe time. They are wrong, right now unstable countrys like Pakistan and India have enough nuclear weapons to completely wipe out the area you live in. Twenty years ago Russia nearly launched a whole attack on Norway because they mistook a weather baloon for a nuke. There are people in high aurority who are well to say insane and in no state to run a country of that power. I am refering to George W. Bush of America.

Think for once again.... 100 years ago the human race was developing at a remarkable pace then WW1 came around due to the fact of MONEY not insane leaders but MONEY. Thousands of inocent people were masacered to make 10 meteres on a battlefield while politicians were arguing about rights to who owned more MONEY. Then in 1939 (only 62 years ago, think not that long at all) there was WW2 another horendous war where millions of people were killed. A postman (random choice of work) was sent to France to fight for what I am sure he did not believe in but for what his government wanted. Japan was bombed stupid with nukes ONLY 56 YEARS AGO.

You think after that the human race would have learned its lesson from that BUT NO, they just got bloody worse.

Since WW2 there has been:

The Cold War which nearly wiped us all out!
Vietnam, no reason for killing so many young men on both sides.
The Gulf War a war over who gets oil!
Falklands, a poinless war over islands that are no where near us and we should not have interfered.
The constant fighting in Bosnia.

In the last 50 years the human race has prospered well with technology and we have grown as one big happy family. I could go and talk to someone in Geramny, America, South Africa, Austrailia or Japan on the internet at this very moment. The next day the government could say they are our sworn enemy because they won't let us drill for oil there or they won't let us be in charge.

I just hope the future is better than the past has been, but I would not count on it.

I shall leave you with one simple question!

What is War good for?

Thank you for reading this, I hope I have made you think about something that I believe strongly in.

Game don't joke here. It's very insensitive.

A very meaningful point, SHEEPY. I think I will try and fit this onto a website of mine somwhere, if that's OK?

It is a prime topic. A little off the subject of games, but a strong post and it's right enough to be here, where your friends are, in my view.

Where I live in about 1994 the Russians nearly launched a Nuke at an abanned air field about 5 miles away. The computer went wrong or something like that and as this abanned air field was still classed by the Russians as a In service Military base the computer locked on to it. Foruntatly they got the system to de-lock and it didnt launch the missile. It would have launched in another 10 mins if they didnt stop it. Its a true story it was in the local newspaper a year or so after the incident.

In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
