Made these ages ago, and some don't work great (the ball one in particular is a fudged attempt at...something), but enjoy, for some reason, I don't know why:

Watch the fire in 'Low' quality - it looks ultra retro.

Tell me about it! I usually close the timeline panel, then the advanced properties bit. Damn tiny coding window.

Juts found it. Movie Explorer. Damn, it's an awkward environment to program in.....

Link to the Flash doc, Mister.

Just realised that these load in a browser, and fill it so they look worse than they already do. Shrink the browser, should look and act better then.

Just downloaded a particle demo (I LOVE particles) but I'm having trouble finding where the underlying code is stored, help?

That's why I left it like it, it was intended!

It works by using sin, phase angle, that sort of thing, and applies it to the 'waviness' and transparency and tint. Could have started the cycle anywhere, but it was going to be used like a gun shot hitting, then fire starting, in a game.

Ha, that's because you initialise all your particles at the same time, and subsequent ones move at varying speeds. It's harder to NOT get the puff at the start. For that you need to write a particle emitter. ;D

[edit] Damn, I'm feling a little overwhelmed with all this Flash Stuff.....

I can do tweening and everything pretty well.

I'm just lacking in the ideas and actionscript departments.

Haha, that was the easiest one to make. Just tweening, most of the others are all action-script. The 'fire' one I'm quite proud of - it's totally random, and the little puff at the beginning fills me with glee, then I sit and watch it for ages like a cyber-caveman.
