My first was of course from the police and the second from the house of homophobia and racism, otherwise known as Tesco security.
I now have a job working for a LA Fitness gym selling and promoting memberships. This work is a bit more interesting overall and has less racists, none that I've found so far.
A typical day, (I say that, but I've only worked one so far, second starts in and hour), consists of going out and promoting the gym with "quirky" gimmicks. Calling people that have given us their names and numbers at said things and getting them into the gym to tour them and try to get them to buy stuff.
It's only a temporary position until the end of April, but it could be extended if it's going well. The money is pretty good and the hours are ok, so I'm happier.
It's giving me good experience in a few area's to help me get some reasonable paying work until I can apply for the Fire Service, which is my long-term plan. It also means I have free access to a very good gym to train for the Fire Service.
So, um, yeah.
Anyone want a gym membership?
Grrr
In conclusion, LA Fitness suck. I'm sure you'll be a breath of fresh air though.
My mate did a similar job while he was at uni, he'd have to reach a certain target each month and always tried to get me and other mates to sign up to the stupid prices that none of us could afford. We ended up avoiding him a lot until he chucked the job.
Do you get any free memberships to the gym or anything like that?
