2 million pre-orders have been recorded for the Nintendo DS in Japan. Rather stunning amount as there is just 1 million being shipped.
If Nintendo want to stop gamers going to the PSP for their fix they better stump up some cash to produce more consoles.

Britain is a country stereotyped to be full of tea drinkers but there's no shortage of tea is there.
2 Million pre-orders is very impressive and so I hope Nintendo make every effort to meet the demand - as well as meeting European demand when it finally gets released over here.
When I went to buy my Gamecube just a month after release I could only find one left in one shop in Cardiff.
Some out of town small shops may have had some left but I wasn't prepared to go looking that hard.
I expect Nintendo to be well stocked with DSs for release.
