SOTD was like Big Train, very 'hit and miss'. I'd rather it went the Monthy Python/Victor Lewis Smith way of things. I like black comedy like The League but this just fell really short of my expectations.
Spaced is much better, the references are more mainstream and they don't over-indulge themselves too much in them so it's more about the comedy and less about showing off.
Thankfully I didn't see the first film unitl after the second as it was terrible. Liz Hurley completely ruined it.
Still, each to their own and all that.

You could classify them both as Rom Com's. Altohugh I'd say applying 'comedy' to a description of SOTD is stretching it.
Don't quite understand the comparison myself.
