Ive just read from the weekly update on bungie that the maps will be abvailable by the end of april, then ses 2 of them are free and 2 you will need to buy on the same day, then 5 more later on.
THIS was all ok untill i seen the bottom that sed all the maps will be free by late summer!? whos gonna pay for sumthing you can get free??

I will. See, the reason they are charging for them at first is to make a bit of money off of them. Then they can release them for free later on because of a sponsorship deal with Mountain Dew. It also prevents them from having a huge load on their servers when they are released at first.
