Anyone been watching this? Series at 7 every day on BBC1. Team of divers going into underexplored territory by actually diving the Amazon. I reallly enjoy my scuba diving and aquatic life, so could be just me interested in this, but I doubt the BBC would commission a series just for me....Could happen, though. I won't rule it out.

Anyway, it unfortunately has Kate Humble gurning away at every moment, but once they actually start filming the animals, it's spectacular. Today they were after freshwater dolphins, giant otters, and a bloodsucking catfish that's been known to swim up a penis. Didn't swim up Kate Humble's, though.

Tomorrow I think they're going after an anaconda., and yesterday they were after a giant catfish called a jau. What I really like about this series, as morbid as this sounds, is that no divers have ever done this before. There was nearly an accident in a night dive today, and when they go under, they seriously have no idea what could be down there.

Maybe the anaconda will eat Kate Humble tomorrow.

Oh, and Paul "Withnail & I" McGann narrates. This is great, I can imagine him sauntering onto the screen and yelling at Kate Humble that she's not an expert on bulls.

Final Day: Kate Humble still not dead. Although there's a possibility the co-presenter will behead her.

You never know when some terrorists will abduct you and leave you in the deep amazon, with a large knife

Yep, I'll be certain to remember that next time I'm trekking through the deep Amazon.

She's not exactly a 'plus point' to the programme, she mumbles and apes what everyone is saying, too afraid to dive, and catches bats ! - I think she thought the sky was the water.

"Hey lookit dat - I caught a fish"

I was hoping she was gonna fall in as they were stepping over the fallen tree but no such luck :(

Today wasn't spectacular, they found some electric eels which were quite impressive, but other than them, they only really found the Caymen. Tomorrows climax looks fantastico :D

That guide's English is very impressive and that water vine was a handy survival hint.

I saw the start of it, showing what they'd found so far.
The deformed pink dolphins were excellent.

But then I went to play Resi 4 instead.

You've used that before. Not that I would ever get tired of seeing it, mind.

Amazon Abyss Day 4: Kate Humble still not dead. Too scared to get into water with crocs or electric eels.

Last week I was waiting for the Pope to die, this week it's Kate Humble.

Might check it out tonight. Nothing better to do, especially due to the tosh on Belgiumish TV. Just BBC 1 + 2 to keep me entertained...

True that. I'd like to see Blessed versus a snake. They should have sacked Jennifer Lopez from the awful Anaconda movie and made it with Brian the Blessed instead. He'd have accidentially sat on the snake in the first minute and then spend the next hour and half laughing uproarously.

I'd pay to see it.

See, Blessed would just bellow and dive.
Poor snake.
