Though what you've said is right FFF, but it doesnt need to be rhyming. I mean, there are so many such songs like, "The Beatles - Let It Be" "Ronan Keatings - If Tommorow Never Comes", etc etc etc.

Anywho ... it's all subjective.
Although for the most part, a predictable rhythm with the different layers of noise fitting into it somehow, with changes (often predictable, and again sticking to the rhythm) in the notes make it different to just sound.
